Ta Prohm Temple

Ta Prohm Temple

One of the most interesting temples famed for the fusion of ancient architecture and jungle wilderness. This temple appeared in the 2001 movie “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” and is one of the most visited sites in Angkor.

Built 1186AD as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and has all but succumbed to the invading jungle. The temple has been left in its semi-ruined state to showcase the power of nature reclaiming human creation.

A fascinating place to visit as we did in April 2003.
